After training full time at London’s prestigious Laine Theatre Arts, Rachel returned to her native Australia where she performed with the Australian Ballet (corps de ballet) and the Opera Australia Ballet Company.
While dancing professionally with these companies in Melbourne Rachel was approached by aerialist Chris Mayhew from the National Institute of Circus Arts who offered to train her in the art of aerial dance. She began working with him on hand balancing, static trapeze and hoop. Together they performed for numerous exclusive events and galas such as the Australian Grand Prix Ball.
In 2004 Rachel developed her own solo act on fabric (tissu) and was offered a contract to perform as an aerialist at Tokyo Disneyland in Japan. During her spare time in Japan Rachel studied and performed with re-noun Japanese aerialist Kimiko Wakaido.
In 2006 Rachel relocated to Los Angeles where she currently resides. She performs frequently with the Los Angeles based aerial dance company Myo Dance and regularly travels to Seattle, Santa Fe, Aspen and Denver for guest performances with Aspen/Santa Fe Ballet Company and The Cabiri Physical Theatre Company. Rachel also works as a freelance dancer performing regularly with contemporary choreographers Megan and Jeffrey Hornaday, as well as appearing in music videos and commercials. Throughout July and August of 2007 Rachel was training Jessica Biel in the art of aerial dance, preparing her for a role in the upcoming film Powder Blue. As well as provide training Rachel also assisted the films choreographer Cati Jean both on set and in rehearsal.
In September of 2007 Rachel directed, choreographed and starred in the Aerial Dance production 'Falling Upwards' at the Colony Theater. In March 2009 Rachel choreographed the music video Girlfriend for Mams Taylor and Snoop Dog. In May of 2009 she choreographed the aerial and cabaret section of Tango Nuevo Cabaret at the Pasadena Civic center.
